How to find ways to fund a school mural.

Academy International Elementary School in D20, Colorado Springs

Here are some ways to finance the mural projects for the school:

  1. Financial support for the school mural can be sourced from various channels, such as the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), the Principal's discretionary budget, the campus maintenance fund, or the curriculum budget. To illustrate, certain schools allocate funds for programs focused on "character education," social/emotional development, or diversity and inclusion in learning. A mural aligning with and promoting any of these educational aspects may qualify for funding through the respective program.

2. "Another example is that in California, all fourth graders study California history. Every school has an annual budget to support that unit, which might include field trips to the capital or to visit one of the early Spanish missions. One less field trip for one year would pay for a large mural that celebrates California history and would last 30 years in the heart of the school, benefitting the entire school community on a daily basis”.

Introducing my giveback program for schools! When schools choose my mural services or purchase original artwork, I'm committed to giving back 15% to support the school. Every penny counts, and I understand the importance of maximizing resources for educational needs.

To facilitate this, the school's PTA can share information about my mural services and original paintings in their email newsletter. Additionally, members of the school community, including parents of students, can participate. If they hire me for mural services for their home or business or buy any original art, mentioning their school's name ensures a 15% contribution back to the school.

It's a win-win situation – supporting education while enhancing spaces with unique, professionally crafted art. Let's collaborate for the benefit of both the school and me as a dedicated artist.

Fun Fact: A mural requires little if any investment in ongoing maintenance.
